Fire Retardants |
Even when not mandated by law, it is a good idea to flameproof your materials. Some items you may want to treat include non-flame retardant fabrics, artificial flowers, paper and wood. All of these can ignite quite quickly causing fires that threaten both life and property. Be particularly wary if items will be near open flames such as cigarettes or candles.
Our flame retardants meet standard codes and are guaranteed to improve fire retardancy when used correctly.
NOTE:
Over diluting, or too light application can lessen the effectiveness of flame proofing. Also, there is a possibility the flame proofing compound will affect the color or quality of some delicate fabrics. We recommend testing a small area before fully applying. If you need assistance in selecting the right chemical, or advise on how to apply, feel free to contact us. Our Flame Proofing Division is fully certified by the Fire Department of the City of New York. However, by law, we cannot issue an affidavit of fire retardancy for drapery treated by others.
