Carpenter Theater - Richmond, VA
I. Weiss worked with Texas Scenic on a new main curtain and decorative swag-valance for the historic Carpenter Theater in Richmond, VA.
The theater opened originally in 1928 as a Loew's theater changing along the way as so many historic movie palaces have. In 2004 the Carpenter Theater closed its doors for an extensive renovation, and re-opened in September 2009 as the Carpenter Theater, part the of Richmond Center Stage Performing Arts Complex, with a larger stage to accommodate Broadway shows, an enlarged lobby area, and last but not least, beautiful new draperies.
